19 weeks!

Well it is safe to say, that my nesting mode has offically kicked in! We got our cribs and changing table, and Rhett put them together! The second room is now a nursery! We still have a lot to do, such as adding a new paint color, curtains, and rug, and I need to find a glider, but there is still lots of time for that!

In other news, I am 19 weeks and 5 days, so I am a little late on the blog post, but better late than never! We had our big ultrasound this week where they looked closely at each twin to study their organs, growth, heart rates, etc. It all looked great! The only thing that was noted was one of my placentas is a bit low so it just means no lifting, running, etc. Which is all fine by me right now! The doctor said that it isn't anything to worry about, it can just mean that I might have to have a c- section, which with twins is pretty common anyways!

The twins are a really great size, they are the each the size of where a single baby would be right now, which means they are REALLY big for twins, so the doctor was quite pleased with this. I felt like perhaps I was getting big a bit fast but when I heard this news, I knew it was all for a great cause! I will continue to work on growing some big babies!

They aren't just making their presence known by increasing my ever growing bump, I feel them move around a lot! It is like a twitch or flutter, not really a full on kick, but that will happen soon. I can't wait to see the look on Rhett's face when he feels these little miracles for the first time!

We still pinch ourselves and are so excited our miracles are doing well, we can't wait to meet them soon. As always thanks for your love and support. We can't wait to share the gender reveal with you on March 2nd!

17 weeks!

So I am supposed to be blogging every week and posting a pic every week, but that hasn't really happened. I am feeling a lot better, am getting more of an appetite, just have been so tired! The little ones are growing a lot and I have been feeling a lot of stretching lately!

Rhett and I have been busy getting our place ready for baby while I am still feeling okay. We have gotten rid of our guest room furniture and have a changing table, and a storage unit in the nursery so far! I have been looking at paint and we ordered the cribs, which should arrive next week! I know that I am doing everything way early, but figured if I am feeling motivated to do it, might as well! We are so excited to meet these little ones and are both so in love with them already!

In March we have two showers! One here in the Chicagoland area on March 2nd and one in Cincy later in the month on March 16th. We are looking forward to sharing the genders of our little ones on March 2nd! It seems like time is just flying by, it is hard to believe that I am already 17 weeks! We feel so blessed and sometimes I still can't believe that our dream has finally come true!

Love,

Bails

Second Trimester!

Well it is finally here! The start of the second trimester! All has been going well with our sweet peas and they have been growing as have I! I have been still really tired, have still had some nausea and headaches, but have finally stopped throwing up and am able to eat! Woo Hoo. Unfortunately, I have a lot of aversions to food and there isn't a lot that sounds good, so when I have a craving for something, darling Rhett makes sure I get it!
We are so thrilled that everything is still going so well and we are excited to find out the genders in about another month or so. We have begun our registry, which is a bit overwhelming, babies sure need a lot of stuff, especially when there are two! Thanks for everyones prayers and thoughts, and well wishes!

Resolutions

Every year I make resolutions and I break them. So this year I am keeping it simple. Blog more. I logged in today and saw the last time I posted was November 30, more than a month ago. For those of you that have facebook, you have seen some of my updates on there, but I know not everyone is on facebook and so I vow to try to blog more often.

This past week I turned 12 weeks! This was such a blessing. I had an ultrasound yesterday and everything looked perfect. I feel so lucky to be at the 3 month mark and to have these precious little, healthy babies growing inside me!

The past three months have been filled with joy, morning sickness, exhaustion, and excitement. Rhett and I are so over the moon and are so excited for this summer when we get to meet our precious little ones.

Many people have asked, and yes, we are going to find out the genders. Both of us feel it is a boy and a girl, but those suspicions will be confirmed at our 20 week ultrasound. We haven't planned anything yet, but would like to have a gender reveal party in which we have the doctor place the genders in two envelopes and we give the envelopes to a baker ( or my friend Christa, if she still wants to, haha)to make cakes with the appropriate blue or pink insides and we will cut the cakes among our family and friends and find out together. We can't wait to find out, we are going to happy with whatever they are, we are just hoping for two, healthy, big, babies!

We spent Christmas at home in Cincy with my family and enjoyed many good laughs, good food, and relaxation. Poor Rhett received a gift he wishes he could return... a nasty cold. My mom was sick as well too. Fingers, crossed, I have been okay so far.

I hope that all of you had a Merry Christmas and hope that 2013 is the most wonderful year yet, Rhett and I are sure it will be our best year ever!

Thankful

There is so much to be thankful for this time of year, and all the other days of the year for that matter too. This Thanksgiving, Rhett and I have two very special, very little people to be thankful for, our precious little sweet peas that are snuggling up inside mommy. I always hoped and prayed for the day that God would bless us with a child, and it was well worth the wait, as He gave us a double blessing. I thank God every night for this amazing gift that has been bestowed upon us. We truly feel like the luckiest people in the world!

We had our ultrasound last Thursday that showed our precious little ones (this week the size of two little lentil beans) and it was the coolest moment ever! Right away we saw the gestational sacs with their little yolks pop right up! We were over the moon with joy, relief, and love! Since then I have been overjoyed, exhausted, and nauseous, but I will take anything this pregnancy brings, as I am just so happy I feel like nothing can let me down!

Rhett of course, has been amazing. Doing everything, cooking, cleaning, taking care of the boys (I think he's ready for a yard) and getting me anything my heart desires. I look at how well he takes care of me and I feel so blessed to know these babies are going to have the most amazing father in the world.

On Thanksgiving we are headed to my brother and sister and law's house and I can't wait to hang out with them and play with my adorable lil niece, Lucy. She will be an amazing cousin to our little sweet peas. The day after Thanksgiving will be filled with more celebration, as Rhett and I have our second ultrasound appointment in which we see the little heartbeats! We can't wait!

We hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Well, I worried for nothing, as many of you were telling me, (Rhett included). I got the call and my numbers were beautiful! The were right where they should be so we couldn't be more excited! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! Now we are onto our ultrasound on Thursday! We can't wait! Maybe we will even see how many there are!

Have a good night!

Waiting

Waiting is so hard. We have waited for lab results, waited to finally get a positive pregnancy test, and now we wait on HcG numbers. Waiting is hard, being patient is hard, but it is a virtue and one I try get better at everyday.

On Friday, we went in for our 2nd repeat blood test after the positive pregnancy test on Monday. I waited all day to hear the news, to find out my numbers had not quite doubled. They increased quite a bit, but because they didn't double I am going in for another blood test on Monday. My progesterone levels have been decreasing a bit, so they added some more progesterone to my medication plan and we are hoping that should take care of that problem. So now, we wait. I have been trying to stay very positive, but of course am a bit worried. I know that worrying won't help anything so I am trying to stop myself from going down that path.

Luckily I have a big distraction to consume my mind today and it's name is CONFERENCES! Yes, ladies and gentlemen that time of year is here, so I sit surrounded by piles of papers to stuff, organize, and write comments on. Conferences go everyday this week after school, and then next week, we have a whole week off. If all goes well tomorrow, we have our first ultrasound on Thursday to detect the gestational sac and the yolk, and then the day after Thanksgiving we should be able to see a heartbeat! So much to look forward to, please keep the prayers coming!
